- Fill a small cup with one tablespoon of lemon juice.
- Dip the end of a cotton swab into the lemon juice.
- Use the cotton swab to write a secret message onto a plain piece of 8 ½” x 11” paper.
- Decode the secret message by holding the paper over a toaster that has been activated. The heat from the toaster will turn the invisible ink a light brown color, faster than the rest of the paper, revealing the secret message.
- Mix one part baking soda to one part water and place in small cup.
- Dip the end of a cotton swab into the baking soda mixture.
- Write a secret message on a plain piece of 8 ½” x 11” paper.
- Decode the secret message by dipping a paint brush into red grape juice and brushing over the paper.

Amazing Invisible ink. (FREE) Home made INK
Making and using invisible ink is a great project to do with kids. You can use items you probably have in your kitchen to make secret messages and later decode them. Invisible ink also means invisible mess. You can’t go wrong with this project.
